Monte Allums mod

I found this pedal (stock) to have a slight high-mid hump, and a bit of a rolloff up higher. Also the most background noise of any compressors I've tried, which sounds like a "rumbling" noise through the Big Muff when the guitar's volume is down.

The Monte Allums mod fixed the frequency response to my liking. The pedal would now be fantastic except for that background noise. Hence my search for optical compressors now, amongst other things.

Release control mod

By replacing the 150k resistor near Q4 (R.G. Keen's schematic here) with a variable resistor, the compressor's release time can be controlled. Sort of. A worthy mod anyway. I used a trimpot up the top left corner here and made it set-and-forget.
