Not wishing to namedrop, but this is the compressor David Gilmour used until he got his Demeter Compulator. Well not this one in particular, but one like it. I haven't had the pleasure of trying the Demeter, but the CS-2 is the quietest (non-optical that is) compressor I've come across so far. Beats a modded Dynacomp and a modded CS-3.

Try them all running through a Big Muff with your guitar volume control on 0. You'll hear what I mean.

I've slightly modded this one by shorting out the diode and resistor on the power input, making it easier to use standard adaptors rather than the Boss ACA adaptor.
